The Communist Party does not endorse candidates outside of its ranks. Our campaigns are developed and carried out collectively, and our candidates are accountable to the program, constitution and democratic processes of the Party.
While we do not endorse non-Party candidates, we are not neutral in the electoral arena. Our involvement in campaigns — whether for public office, Proposition 2½ override votes or ballot questions — is built out of our involvement in broad labor-progressive coalitions, as we fight consistently for working-class leadership within them. This entails not only strong resistance to MAGA and the extreme Right, but independent, contingent support for candidates who advance working-class political interests. Through democratic centralism, we ensure our ability to collectively and independently address any political situation.

In the course of building coalitions and fielding electoral campaigns, we struggle to build genuine, clear consciousness of capitalist political economy, and of socialism as its necessary resolution. This contrasts with left-populist and sectarian forces, which view socialism as a form of snake-oil salesmanship and seek to impose their narrow vision on society through a mix of deep pockets, dishonesty and brute force. Such obscurantism is antithetical to genuine democracy and against our interests as a class.
